Honouring Our Waterford & District Canadian Veterans
Veterans Banner Program
Dedication Day Sept. 6th
Sunday September 6, 2026 at 1:00pm at
Waterford Main Street Bridge.
The street will be closed for the ceremony where Reverend Burr will dedicate the banners.
A walking tour to each pole will then proceed with a read out of the biographical details of each veteran.
Refreshments and desserts will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 123 after dedication ceremonies.

The Waterford & District Veterans Banner Association is led by a group of dedicated local people who care deeply about promoting those veterans and families who gave everything for their country.
Rooted in the Waterford community, we prioritize local soldiers, ensuring that their legacies are honored where they belong.

About The Waterford & District Veterans Banner Association
Each Waterford Memorial Banner is dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of our local Canadian soldiers and their families. We create and display custom banners that serve as heartfelt tributes in Waterford & District Veterans. Banners are reserved for veterans who are deceased and who grew up, lived in, or who had a significant connection to the geographical areas of Waterford or the former Township of Townsend.
Families are encouraged to submit an application for inclusion by completing the Application Form. Donations are gratefully accepted to support this community project. View our Sponsor List Page.
Custom Designs
Each banner is custom-made to reflect the unique story of the soldier, ensuring a meaningful tribute for families and communities alike. Banners are double-sided, weather resistant vinyl that will be used for multiple years.
We offer unique, personalized banners that stand out and resonate with the stories of our heroes. At the bottom of each post will be a plaque with a brief story about the veteran banner on display.
Placement of Banners
Placement and location of each banner will be coordinated by the Waterford & District Veterans Banner Association.
Seasonal Displays
New banners will be installed in the fall of each year and will remain on display for Remembrance Day. The banners will adorn downtown Waterford during warmer seasons, creating a visual tribute that resonates throughout the community.
